Sticking with your passion

For the most part of my life I was known as the kid who could draw. In elementary school I was always praised for my drawings- mainly of cartoon characters. In high school when I took art I really expanded on my skills and I improved greatly with all the practice. Unfortunately that was pretty much the last time I had dedicated any time towards drawing.

I always wished I stuck with it, but drawing takes a lot of time and patience, which is something I don’t have a lot of anymore. I have made a few drawings here and there over the last few years, but I really want to try and spend more time doing it. I mostly enjoy drawing faces, or nature landscapes. I drew a cricket photo in 2009 and a face portrait in 2008:

These were the last of my drawings. My goal is to start back up again- maybe it'll help me relax more? Either way I think it'll be good for me..
So goal number two for 2011: Start drawing again!

To work out or not to work out- that is the question

For Christmas I got a new lululemon wardrobe in hopes that it would motivate me to go to the gym- unfortunately that hasn’t happened yet. I even restarted my gym membership AND signed up for yoga classes, but has that motivated me in the slightest?? Nope.

I went to Winners today (the greatest store ever) and saw a Pilates set on sale for 8 dollars. It came with a mat, a mini ball, and 30 different workout moves- pretty good for 8 bucks! And naturally I had to buy it because it was the colour pink :D

I find it sooo hard to get motivated to work out in the winter; it’s so damn cold outside! Not to mention when you go to school full time and work, the last thing you want to do in your spare time is exercise.

I actually did end up using the Pilates set when I got home, but we’ll see how long that lasts.  I’m turning into that person who buys workout stuff, yet doesn’t work out. Ahh!

Show and share time :)

Although I’m not one to brag about anything really, I feel like this is worth sharing!

I found out that I have a slight obsession with nice (ahem..expensive) jewellery, and unfortunately Jason usually gets stuck with the bill. But then again I always find that jewellery has more meaning to it when it’s given from someone you love.

For my birthday two years ago, Jason bought me this beautiful blue topaz cushion-cut ring with diamond accents. I’ve pretty much worn it every day since I got it, and it never lacks a compliment.

This year for Christmas all I wanted was diamonds, but honestly who doesn’t? Aside from the rarity of the stone, the geological process that a diamond undergoes is pretty amazing. I find that Jason gets quite uneasy when shopping for girly items such as jewellery, so I thought I’d help him out and find the ring myself. I decided I didn’t want to purchase a ring from a store because they tend to be overpriced and not great quality, so I did what I do best- searched online.

I ended up finding a great store (Midwest Jewellers) and found the cutest ring. With a click of a button it was mine- oh how I love online shopping!

The ring is 0.50 carats of loveliness. It’s simple, classic, and can be worn with anything. It’s perfect and all mine! So overall it was a great present and thought it was worth sharing, and don’t worry, Jason got spoiled too J

Blackberry or iPhone??

So for the last few months I've been debating what kind of cell phone I should upgrade too and it seems like there is a clear cut competition between the blackberry torch and the iPhone.

To tell you the truth I don't really like either of them. I think although the iPhone has cool features, it's incredibly over saturated. I like the physical keyboard on the blackberry, but I find it quite difficult to type on. So what's a girl to do?

I heard the android phones are even better than the iPhone and Blackberry, maybe I'll switch it up and give it a try? I suppose I will wait for something else to come about, considering they pump out new phones like there's no tomorrow.  Hmm either way it looks like it'll remain the blackberry curve for me!
